There is almost no information about the NS-500RC3 5 Bay raid model. I installed 5 14TB drives followed instructions for RAID 5 and it worked. I'm getting 200+ MB/second transfers. The instructions could be more clear and having to install an app to ser it up is a pain, but the form factor is great.
I was really pleased that the enclosure itself is USB-C; however, it is supplied with 2 cables, 'USB-C to USB-C' and 'USB-C to USB-B', so it allows you to use this on many devices compared to standard USB drives.
This thing is really nice. Works with both USB and USB-C connections. Super easy to connect up and nothing to install. Try to with both PC and Mac and work great. Highly recommend getting us if you’re looking for an easy way to recover any data from previous systems.
Tested this with a 27 Apple iMac, Surface Pro 7 and Surface Pro 8 and two lenovo laptops and one Asus ROG laptop.. Unit worked with all systems i tried it on. I was able to use the 120gb of the drive in the slot and had no issues reading or writing data to the drive. It also ejects fine with each of the systems as well.
This M.2 NVME Enclosure from ORICO is a great little pickup for the money, I have recently upgraded my NVME storage and had a fully working NVME I didn't have a use for. This funnily came up on my recommendation after looking for Sata SSD enclosures - and for the price, I thought I'd give it a go!
First off my CDM image I want to address. The speeds there are slow. The Orico isn't to blame. That 1tb drive is notoriously hard to run, as it was the first ever 1tb consumer drive. It had poor power use and slow speeds, this external ran it just fine and at the same speed as internal. Which itself many other external sata adapters can not do.
The other feature i saw that i almost didn't catch at first was the cable.. It has an adapter built in that allows it to be a USB A or USB C. This allows for alot of versatility when you are connecting it to different types of systems (some that have USB c and others that dont).
My computer (intel NUC) had no issue seeing the new drives instantly, however with 4 drives in use the drives tend to get pretty hot. The only cooling is a single fan in the back and there is *very* little space around the drives for air to go around the drives, even with the front panel off.
I highly recommend this product as well as any other product that Orico makes. I have never run across anything that Orico makes that has disappointed me in any way... This brand does not disappoint...
Quality of the drive is spot on with what i would expect for enclosures of this type. I do love the fact that it works with SATA drives that are either 3.5 or 2.5 inches. This is not for Ribbon ATA drives.. this is for SATA Drives only.

As the lid screws down from above, I’ve attached the thermal pad to the lid so it can easily be removed & the ssd swapped out. On older usb 3 ports sustained 300mb read and write were achieved with a kioxia basic nvme drive.
Easy to instal and use, the only limitation is that as with other ORICO enclosures it is compact, with limited use of aluminium resulting in only mediocre heat dissipation. Ideal for cloning SSDs where continuos long-running periods are not likely to be an issue.
This HD docking station is well made and does what it says very well. I like the fact that they've included a universal plug so that you can use this here (in the USA) as well as in Europe. This is a nice added feature that is welcome... I also like the fact that this docking station supports HD's up to 18TB at USB 3.0 speeds... This is a very welcome addition that will be greatly appreciated.
I have tons of enclosures that i use when i need to get a hard drive up and running to pull data off them. This hub is perfect!. I much rather have the ability to just plug the drive in and not having to install/uninstall a drive into an enclosure just to use it. This makes it fast, convenient and simple.
I had a failing NVM in my spectre, bought a new NVM, fitted build the laptop. Used this to access the old NVM and pull my data off. It worked perfectly.
