I had recently upgraded all the drives in my Synology NAS so I had 5 extra drives I wasn't sure what do with. Wasn't sure if this would work, but I plugged it into the USB in my NAS and the Synology NAS recognized all 5 drives. Highly recommend.

Easy to set up. Quiet. Provides convenient additional storage without RAID constraints. It's convenient for files that aren't required to be highly available or require advanced maintenance like backups, restorations and the like.

I am also using a USB switch with this to switch between two media players and this turns on and off as the media devices turn on and off, UNLIKE the Sabrent. If the unit goes to sleep per your source device, it takes about 8 seconds for it to wake up and start playing media. Transfer speeds over USB 3.0 are around 150MB/s. This is GEN 1 USB-C connection fyi. So far, liking the simplicity and agility of the device.

I am using this to simply store 60TB worth of data and while something like the Sabrent drove the HDD hard and noisy, I've yet to hear a peep out of this machine using the same HDD. Oddly, there's nothing securing the HDDs as far as front chassis or door go but still very quiet enclosure indeed. Its faster than the Sabrent too when booting and lighter in weight. Fan air runs cool... this may change later on as time goes on.

I will be comparing it to Sabrent 5 Bay as I tried both and came away cheering for the Orico.
